Time is running out on the Harborwalk Sounds series (ends next Thursday). Even if you don't want to hear some fantastic country/bluegrass from Sierra Hull & Highway 111, the ICA is free every Thursday night anyway.

When I went a few weeks ago, I thoroughly enjoyed the exhibit "The Record: Contemporary Art and Vinyl" (ends MON 9/5), and non-record lovers will be amused by the various interpretations especially the video compilation by Taiyo Kimura who does the strangest things to records and album covers.

Who knew there was a comedy night at the Somerville Theatre?

A handful of graduates from the Improv Asylum Training Center invite other comedians for what they describe as a night of "Improv, sketch, stand-up, music", and of course the sell beer.

Might be worth a shot at this low cover, and the seats are comfortable...

This existential play by Samuel Beckett is a sparse, minimalist tale where nothing much happens, so it would work fine in a relatively small basement theater.

It's not the feel-good hit of the summer, but who's expecting that on Labor Day weekend.
