I've added some share buttons at the bottom of posts. If they're annoying or seem to cause performance issues, let me know.
For a little over $10, Lenka and Julia Easterlin are performing at Cafe 939 tonight. They don't serve booze, so think of the extra $3 as a beer you didn't buy. FYI: For further proof that a Berklee education doesn't prevent success, Julia is performing at Lollapalooza in August...

WED 6/29 (thru MON 7/4)
Various Times
Boston Harborfest
at Various Locations
Many Free or under $10
Let's look at the bottom line. A lot of the events during Harborfest are intended to keep tourists occupied while they wait for the fireworks and Pops concert.
There's nothing wrong with that -- many visitors probably want some guidance after they've walked the Freedom Trail.
Many of this historical/cultural stuff (tours, presentations, reenactments, etc) isn't *that* interesting, or it's more than $10 -- still anyone can go and enjoy this stuff.
There will be "Extreme Sailing" races in the Harbor from THUR 6/30 to MON 7/4. British soldier reenactors will be seen around Boston Common and the vicinity on SAT 7/2. If that isn't enough history for you, a disco band is going to perform at City Hall Plaza on Saturday evening. And it's $12 to get into Chowderfest (7/3) this year, so that's all I'm going to say.
When was the last time you stood on the Constitution?
WED 6/29
8pm
"MBTA Slam"
at Cantab Underground, 738 Mass Ave, Cambridge (between Central Sq & Harvard Sq)
$5
Yes, it's easy to slam the T. The trick will be to do it with some craft beyond a rant about the guy who kept on smacking you with his backpack.
At this invitational, slam poets will perform based on the theme and compete. Teams will be representing the Green, Red, Orange, and Blue Lines.
WED 6/29
9pm
"Out of the Woodwork" Acoustic Showcase
at Milky Way Lounge/Bella Luna, 284 Amory St, Jamaica Plain (The Brewery Complex)
FREE
Feat: Heather Foxwell, Reeling Kites, Justin Emile, Anne Warnock, Lauren DeRose
I took a listen to each of these folks, and you should hear some good stuff if you make it down. The plan is for each performer to play 2 short sets and finish around midnight.
WED 6/29
9:30pm
Tetris Tournament
at Good Life, 28 Kingston St, Boston (Downtown Crossing)
FREE
Feat: DJs El Amado, Team Teamwork, Thaddeus Jeffries
Sure, it's the hip-hop that they really want you to go for, but Tetris is addictive. It's supposed to be a "very informal" tournament, although there is a grand prize (dinner for two upstairs in the restaurant).
Besides the DJ's, people will play on 2 Wii's and 2 Atari 2600's.
