When I saw this video by arty-punky duo Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling, I had to say, "Holeeeey crap!"
They recreated the opening sequence of "The Prisoner", and the result is amazing. Lead singer/drummer Sophia (seen in the role of 'Number 6') said:
This project took 11 days of shooting and nearly 2 years of planning to create.
It was shot all over Boston and New England with an eye to replicate as nearly as we could the London/Wales/1960s landscape of the original.
Not only does the band name come from an episode of one of the coolest programs ever. The song names also reference the episode titles.
I may be hallucinating, but I also hear musical motifs inspired by the original soundtrack too.
Check it out, and tell your friends about it too. (FYI: The next local gig is at Church on 6/23.)
There's more info available on the making of the video, and a side-by-side comparison video to see how friggin' close they got.
