There is usually something worthwhile on Mondays, usually something geeky or some good bands.
The weekend can leave one a bit drained on Monday, but you can rally. Hey, I'm playing trivia tonight...
If you're free tomorrow, maybe you want to be on the waitng list for TEDxBoston.
--------------------------------------------------------------
MON 6/27
7pm to 8:30 pm
"Mother Nature's Child": Screening & Discussion
at Hunnewell Building, Arnold Arboretum, 125 Arborway, Jamaica Plain
FREE
The case is made for children spending more time outdoors.
The post-film discussion will be led by the Arboretum's School Programs Manager and Adult Education Manager.
Registration is encouraged.
MON 6/27
7pm to 9:30pm
Boston Skeptics in the Pub
at Tommy Doyle's, 96 Winthrop St, Cambridge (Harvard Sq)
FREE
Feat: Joshie Berger
Tonight's guest was the winner of a reality show called "Worst Cooks in America". That doesn't mean Joshie Berger is the absolute worst cook, but the most improved "awful cook" of the season.
Part of his transformation was learning to like non-kosher food after growing up as a Hasidic Jew even though he hadn't been 'practicing' for many years.
MON 6/27
7pm
Culann's Hounds, The Accordion Babes, Rising Appalachia
at The Lily Pad, 1353 Cambridge St, Cambridge (Inman Sq)
$10
Several women will be playing accordions with Culann's Hounds and The Accordion Babes in Cajun, Celtic, and folky settings. Rising Appalachia is something like an acoustic/jazzy/funky protest music.
MON 6/27
8pm to 10pm
The Big Quiz Thing
at Club Oberon, 2 Arrow St, Cambridge (Harvard Sq)
FREE
I'll be there around 7:30pm in a red, white, and blue lei on top of my business casual work attire. I think we should be on the same team and kick butt (or not).
Still it's an entertaining trivia game presentation.
MON 6/27
9:30pm
Bozmo, The Big Big Bucks, The Clippers
at O'Brien's, 3 Harvard St, Allston
$7 / 18+
Bozmo is a new band with members who play (or played) with kick-ass bands like Wonderful Spells, Pretty & Nice, and The Toothaches. Together they make a rough pop that falls in the neighborhood of those groups, and it works really well.
The Big Big Bucks and The Clippers rock out too.
MON 6/27
9:30pm
Larcenist, PJ Bond, Brian McGee, Lonesome Republic
at Charlie's Kitchen, 10 Eliot St, Cambridge (Harvard Sq)
$5 / 21+
It seems there are quite a few bands that are out there blending punk and folk/Americana to different degrees like these acts.

Okay, we're coming to trivia fer realz! See you there!
Excellent!
For those who haven't met me, I'll try to work my way through the crowd then might settle on the raised section at the far end of the room.
