MON 9/7: Labor Fest & Folk

Bread and Roses Strike victory parade
Happy Labor Day! However hard you usually labor, I hope you enjoy yourself.

I don't think the listed music at Charlies Kitchen or the comedy downstairs at the Cantab is actually happening.

MON 9/7

Noon to 7pm
Bread and Roses Labor Day Festival
at Lawrence Common, about 200 Common St, Lawrence
FREE

Celebrate Labor Day in one of the historic sites of the Labor movement! Hey, it's the 25th annual festival too!

All sorts of music (mostly world and folk) and dance on 3 stages... Get a little Lawrence and labor history with talks and walks. As usual, the various food around the Common makes me drool a little...

MON 9/7

Noon to Midnight-ish
"Cutting Edge of the Campfire Festival"
at Club Passim, 47 Palmer St, Cambridge (Harvard Sq)
$10

There is still one more day of wall-to-wall folky goodness. I don't know if tickets are still available, because this is a rather popular event that happens a few times a year. Most Passim events are over $10, so I'm listing it.

Performers will sing some songs solo as well as join together for impromptu collaborations -- just like a... campfire sing-along! But better than most campfires.

The performers' links were available, so here's today's schedule:

Noon -- The Bigfoot Research Organization w/ Rob Laurens, Dave Dersham, Lloyd Thayer, Joel Ninesling
1:30pm -- The Sweater Set
2:15pm -- Charlie Cover, Ian Fitzgerald, Steve Fournier, Joe Kowan
3:45pm -- Wooden Dinosaur
4:30pm -- Kellen Zakula
5:15pm -- Putnam Smith, Sorcha Cribben-Merrill, Vanessa Torres
6:30pm -- Porterdavis
7:15pm -- MC Mr. Napkins
8pm -- Jess Tardy, Alastair Moock, David Champagne, Miss Tess
9:30pm -- Railbird
