TUES 10/7: Business Ideas, Rock, Folk

Absolute Zero Project
Between you and me I'll probably stay home to watch the debate, but I know there are watching parties at Tommy Doyle's and Redline in Cambridge -- or check the Obama site for other watching parties. Here are some other ideas for tonight.

--------------------------------------------------------------

TUES 10/7

6pm to 8pm
"Business Strategy Basics": Seminar
at Mezzanine Conference Room, Boston Public Library, 700 Boylston St, Boston (Copley Sq)
FREE w/ Registration

This sounds like a good session for someone who wants to start a business but doesn't know where to begin. It should equally benefit those struggling business owners who do something well -- but it's no business.

Look at the site for more free business seminars coming up. I like that they're organized by Umass-Boston, s the chances of getting a sales pitch for something is low.

TUES 10/7

8pm
The Absolute Zero Project Farewell Party
w/ Disaster Fund, Monolith, Iain Todd Rowe
at O'Brien's, 3 Harvard St, Allston
FREE

I wasn't crazy about the music I heard, but I thought this was an admirable (if conventionally crazy) project when I found a brief post on Craigslist. An artist has been selling all his stuff before going to Austin tomorrow, and he is taking practically nothing with him. Whatever possessions and artwork that he doesn't give away tonight will be thrown away.

Hear some tunes, meet this guy, and maybe take something home... (I'm wondering if he broke up with his girlfriend or something...)

TUES 10/7

10pm
John Flax, Steve Fournier, Dr and Mrs Van Der Trampp
at Middle East - Corner, 480 Mass Ave, Cambridge (Central Sq)
FREE

Free acoustic performances that should be pretty good.
