Off-Topic: Late-Night Photo Coolness

Although I have other things to do and write, I still surf the Web and was led to some cool micro-photography.

Believe it or not -- that's a photo of mitomycin, an antibiotic powder, although it could be mistaken for a digitized canyon somewhere.

Nice job, Margaret Oechsli (a cancer researcher in Kentucky)! You came in 7th place in this year's Small World Photomicrography Competition, but I like how you remind us that nature often repeats itself.


(Then I laughed, but got sad about election coverage in the media, when I saw a report on The Daily Show about Wasilla. A 'comedy show' offers more informative reports than the real journalists...)
